Handcrafted from natural wood and coated with a protective wood glaze that helps protect the timber from weather conditions. The roof is additionally covered with a soft roofing material for extra protection.

The house has no floor — this is an intentional part of the design to provide a more natural shelter. Natural straw is included and should be placed inside the house. It creates a dry, cozy environment and helps the hedgehog arrange its shelter.

Place the house in a quiet, cozy, and discreet location away from people — among bushes, under trees, near a hedge, or in another peaceful corner of the garden.

Ideally, choose a location protected from strong winds and direct exposure to rain. Avoid open areas where the house is highly visible or where people frequently walk.

After installation, you can partially camouflage the house with leaves, branches, or other natural materials, while keeping the entrance clear.

Installation and Care Instructions

Placement

Choose a sunny or partially shaded location that is protected from strong winds and driving rain. For best results, place the insect house near flower beds, wildflowers, fruit trees, berry bushes, vegetable gardens, or orchards-where insects can easily find nectar, pollen, and other natural food sources.

Place or securely mount the insect house on a stable surface so that it does not wobble or tip over. A quiet location with minimal disturbance provides the best conditions for beneficial insects to settle.

Installation

If your model is designed for mounting, use the supplied mounting hardware. Make sure the insect house is firmly installed and remains stable. A secure structure provides a safe and comfortable habitat for its future inhabitants.

After Installation

Avoid moving the insect house unless absolutely necessary. Insects need time to discover their new home and establish their nesting chambers. It may take anywhere from a few weeks to an entire season for the house to become occupied-this is completely natural. The calmer the location, the more likely beneficial insects are to settle in.

Care

The insect house is made from natural wood and has been pre-treated with a protective wood stain that helps protect it from weather exposure for several years. To maintain its appearance and extend its lifespan, we recommend reapplying a protective finish periodically, depending on the environmental conditions.

Wood is a natural living material. Exposure to sunlight, moisture, and temperature changes may cause slight color variations, small cracks, or other natural changes in its structure. These are normal characteristics of wood and do not affect the durability or functionality of the product.

The natural filling materials do not require regular replacement. Replace them only when they become significantly worn, damaged, or have lost their natural properties.

Don’t be discouraged if your first visitors don’t arrive right away. Beneficial insects need time to find their new home. Sometimes occupancy takes only a few weeks, while in other cases it may take an entire season. This is a completely natural process.
